The final line up in all three Junior Cup competitions have been decided

Fermoy and Charleville will contest next week’s Martin O’Sullivan Cup final after both sides came through their respective semi finals.

Fermoy travelled to Waterford City and emerged 20-12 winners. Waterford looked on course for their second successive final when they led 12-3 at half time with tries by Karl Reade and Niall Coady and a conversion from Aaron Foskin. Shane O’Riordan replied with a try for the visitors. Fermoy controlled the second half and tries by O’Riordan and William Keane with both being converted by O’Riordan who also added a penalty made sure of victory.

Charleville proved too strong for Dungarvan in the other semi final with a 33-15 home win. The winners led 20-3 at half time with tries from Philip Hogan, Ger Sheehan and John O’Neill and a conversion and penalty by Frank Holly to a Conor Foley penalty. Conor Cagney added a fourth try for Charleville after the break and Holly kicked a conversion and two penalties. David O’Riordan replied with two tries for Dungarvan following good work by skipper Cian Walsh and Foley converted one of them.

Kilfeacle defeated Crosshaven 18-16 thanks to a late penalty by Mark Bourke to book their place in the final of the Munster Junior Clubs Challenge Cup and setup a meeting with Richmond in the decider. Playing with the elements Kilfeacle led 8-5 at half time with a try by Ger Luby and a penalty by Bourke to an Eamon Ring try. Jack O’Sullivan added a second try after the break for the Tipperary side and Bourke kicked a conversion to make it 15-3 but Crosshaven rallied and despite numerous penalty misses, a try by Donogh Murphy and penalties by Kieran Doran and Paul Memery put the visitors a point ahead 16-15, until Bourke’s dramatic last minute penalty.

Newcastle West and Presentation will contest the Munster Junior Clubs Shield final at the end of October after narrow victories.

Newcastle West defeated Ballincollig 20-13. The west Limerick side led 17-7 at half time with tries from Martin Davis, John Sheehan and Philip Wrenn with Niall Kennedy kicking a conversion. Kevin Ryan replied with a try and conversion for the visitors. Kennedy added a penalty after the break and Ryan replied with two penalties for Ballincollig.

A great second half comeback by Presentation saw them defeat Kinsale 19-18. Kinsale led 13-3 at half time with a try from Andy Lynch and a conversion and two penalties from Paul Perez. Mark Phair replied with a penalty for the visitors. Joe Kelly added a second half try for Kinsale but the Limerick side hit back with a try by Shane Enright and Phair converted and also added three further penalties.

There were no shocks in the Cork County Cup. Holders Old Christians recorded a 25-15 away win over Bandon. Dave Heaphy, Paul Whelan and Conor Quaid were try scorers for the winners and Conor Mangan kicked two conversions and two penalties. Dave Healy and Ritchie Crowley replied with tries for Bandon and Sean O’Riordan kicked a conversion and penalty.

Cobh Pirates had to battle all the way for a 13-3 victory over Muskerry at Ballyanly. Jack Barrett and John Barry Murphy scored tries for the Pirates and Cian Connolly kicked a penalty. Eoin Keohane replied with a penalty for Muskerry.

Douglas defeated Dunmanway 20-10 in the all Third Division clash. Denis O’Driscoll scored a try for Douglas and Barry Hynes kicked five penalties. Rowan Bernard and Ollie Barry replied with tries for Dunmanway.

Skibbereen proved too strong for Bantry Bay emerging 42-0 home winners.
Ivan Jennings, David Shannon, Kieran Shannon, Peter Mihaere and John O’Sullivan all scored tries for the winners and Ger Hurley kicked three penalties and four conversions.

Cork Constitution defeated Highfield 8-6 in the Munster Seconds League South thanks to a last minute penalty by Shane Kelly. Rory O’Sullivan was Con’s try scorer and Darragh Buckley-Barry replied with two penalties for the home side.

The Dennehy Cup Final between Carrigaline and Old Christians fixed for Woodleigh Park was postponed due to the inclement weather. It now looks likely that it will be rescheduled for the October weekend.

There were plenty of shocks in the McInerney Cup quarter finals. A converted try saw St. Mary’s defeat Young Munster 7-6 at Clifford Park. St. Senan’s were surprise home winners over U.L. Bohemian on a 21-14 scoreline.
Bruff defeated Richmond 20-10 at Richmond Park in a repeat of last year's final and Thomond were 10-0 winners away to Old Crescent.

Dolphin booked their place in the O’Sullivan (Muskerry) Cup final with a 14-10 away win over Kinsale. Oliver Byrne scored a try for the winners and Aidan Uniacke kicked three penalties. Conor Stallard and Jack O’Brien replied with tries for the home side.
