Richmond are the new leaders in Division One of the Munster Junior League after their home win over St. Senan’s.

The top game of the day involving the top two sides Galbally and Skibbereen was postponed and Richmond took full advantage coming from 10-6 down at half time to defeat St. Senan’s 18-10. Dylan Sonnemann score two first half tries for the Clare side Jonathon Ford replied with six penalties for the home side.

Kanturk have moved into second place after their 37-8 home bonus point win over Thurles. Kealan Buckley, Bryan O’Neill, Paul Cotter and Peter Earley were Kanturk’s try scorers and Darragh Meade kicked four conversions and three penalties. Phillip Rabbitte replied with a try for Thurles and Jason Moore kicked a penalty.

Tralee caused the shock of the day with their first win of the season with a 35-17 away win over Clonmel, a result that sees them move away from the relegation zone. Sean Murphy opened the scoring with a try for the Kerry side and Brian O’Sullivan extended the visitors advantage with a second try which Garrett Walsh converted. Robbie Carroll opened Clonmel’s account with a try which Ben Martin converted. Aonrai Donovan extended Tralee’s advantage with a third try which Walsh converted for a 19-7 half time lead. John Gallagher scored a second try for Clonmel and Martin kicked a conversion and added a penalty shortly after. Walsh hit back with three penalties for Tralee and a fourth try in the final minute by Nessan Crean secured the bonus point and Walsh converted.

Clanwilliam got back to winning ways when a last minute penalty by Brian Kissane gave the Tipperary side a 22-19 home win over Waterpark. Robert Doyle scored Clanwilliam’s only try and Kissane kicked the rest a conversion and five penalties. Murray Kinsella replied with a try for Waterpark, John Flynn kicked a conversion and three penalties and Niall Gilhooly added a drop goal.

A last minute drop goal by Fergal Campion helped Crosshaven to a dramatic 11-10 away win over Kilfeacle. The sides were level 5-5 at half time. Charlie Walsh scoring a try for the home side and Eoin Kavanagh replied for the visitors. Ciaran McDonald scored a second try for the Tipperary side and Campion replied with a penalty until his last minute strike secured the points for the Cork side.

Cobh Pirates are now second last after their 29-7 home defeat by Old Christians. The Pirates led 7-3 at half time with a try from Alan Langford which Eamon Ronan converted. Conor Mangan kicked a penalty for the Old Boys. Second half tries from Stuart Lee, Paul McGrath, Dave Heaphy and Stephen Kelly secured the bonus point for the Rathcooney side. Mangan converted one of the tries and Aidan Tobin two.

There were three games in the Second Division all affecting the bottom of the table.

Newport moved off the foot of the table with their first win of the season with an 8-0 home win over Killarney. Darragh Ryan scored a try for the Clare side and Sean Ryan kicked a penalty.

Muskerry eased their relegation worries with a 15-14 home win over Bandon in a bottom of the table clash at Ballyanly. The home side led 15-0 at the interval with tries from Darren O’Farrell and Conor Buckley. Eoin Keohane kicked a conversion and penalty. Des Prendergast and Sean O’Riordan replied with tries for Bandon after the break and O’Riordan converted both.

Scariff moved out of the danger zone with a 22-19 away win over Ballincollig in a game that had to be transferred to the Mahon. James Kelly scored two tries and two conversions for the Clare side and Robbie Madden also got a try. Trevor Kelly kicked a penalty. Robert Foulkes replied with a try for Ballincollig and Kevin Ryan kicked a conversion and four penalties.

Dunmanway’s failure to field a side at Dungarvan sees the West Waterford side take over top spot in the Third Division..

Both Carrick-on-Suir and Charleville kept their promotion hopes alive with home wins.

Carrick defeated local rivals Waterford City 26-3. Ross Clery and David Kiersey scored tries for the winners and Charlie Boland converted both and also added four penalties. Aaron Foskin replied with a penalty for Waterford.

Charleville collected maximum points with a 40-3 home win over Corca Dhuibhne. The winners led 14-3 at half time with tries from Des Power and Frank Holly both converted by Shane Corkery. Kevin Moriarty replied with a penalty for the west Kerry Gaeltacht side. Tony Moffatt, Willie O’Sullivan, Damien Leahy and Corkery added further tries after the break and Corkery converted three of them.

Fermoy continued their recent revival with a 17-3 home win over Abbeyfeale. A try by Eddie O’Connell converted by Shane O’Riordan gave the north Cork side a 7-3 half time lead. Michael Roche replied with a penalty for the visitors. Shane O’Donoghue scored a second try for Fermoy and O’Riordan converted and also added a penalty.

Cork Constitutiondefeated leaders Buccaneers 40-10 to go top of their section in the Under 21 South Western Conference. Cathal Quinn scored two tries for the winners and Tom Harrington, Eoin O’Donnell and Graham Murray got one each. Sean Og Murphy kicked three conversions and three penalties.
