Old Christians are relegated from Division 1 of the Munster Junior League, Charleville and Ennis from Division 2 and Mitchelstown are Third Division champions and promoted to Division 2.
The two remaining games in Division Three which saw Killorglin travel to neighbours Killarney knowing that a win would be enough to see them go up as champions, but it was the home side that came out on top on a 24-15 scoreline.
Alan Mulligan, Brendan Fuller and Paul O’Sullivan scored tries for Killarney and they were also awarded a penalty try. Paudie Sheahan kicked two conversions.
Killorglin replied with tries from Fionn O’Shea and Brian Hayes. Luke O’Shea kicked a penalty and a conversion.
A group of Mitchelstown players and mentors travelled to the game and they were presented with the trophy after the match. This was a great achievement by the north Cork club playing in this league for the first time in the club’s short history.
Fethard completed their program with a 72-0 home win over bottom side Bantry Bay.
Connie Cohn, Gary Kavanagh, Matthew Walsh, Chris Large and Akim Farage got two tries each. Emmet O’Shea and Paddy Cuddy got one apiece with Kavanagh kicking six conversions.
The remaining eight sides in Division Three will play off for the second promotion place and the quarter final draw is –
(a) Killorglin v Bantry Bay,
(b) Killarney v Douglas-Carrigaline,
(c) Dungarvan v Fermoy,
(d) Chorca Dhuibhne v Fethard.
These ties will be played on the 5th March.
In Division 1 Clonmel had to come from behind to beat their bogey side St. Senan’s 22-17.
The Clare side opened the scoring with a try from Tom Cronin which Declan Rowe converted. Conor Cooney replied with a Clonmel penalty before Aidan McMahon scored Senan’s second try and Declan Rowe converted.
Two penalties from Cooney left the Clare side 14-9 ahead at half time. Rowe then extended Senan’s lead with a penalty. Clonmel rallied and tries from Robbie Carroll and Luke Hogan and a fourth Cooney penalty saw Clonmel extend their lead to nine points.
Their closest challengers Newcastle West had their game with Richmond postponed as a mark of respect to the former Richmond President Joe Sheehan.
Clanwilliam’s 24-8 victory at Rathcooney over Old Christians means the Cork side will be playing in the Second Division next season.
Darragh Crowe, Kieran Merrigan, Vivian Grisewood and Bryan O’Rahelly scored tries for Clanwilliam and Niall Leahy added two conversions. Matthew O’Connell scored Christians try and John Marnell kicked a penalty.
This result leaves Clanwilliam two points outside a top four finish.
Bandon in third place had to come from 16-0 down at half time to defeat Abbeyfeale 18-16.
A Philip Daly try and a conversion and three penalties by Derry O’Connor had the home side ahead at the interval. Gearoid Crowley and Dan Swittenbank replied with tries for Bandon. Kerry Desmond kicked a penalty and a conversion and Luke Fleming also added a penalty.
Kilfeacle in fourth place defeated Cobh Pirates 29-5 a result that sees Cobh now in the relegation battle.
Diarmuid O’Donnell, Josh Featherstone, Shane Looby and Kieran Kinnane were Kilfeacle’s try scorers with Looby kicking three conversions and a penalty.
Alan Langford was Cobh Pirates try scorer.
Skibbereen came from 8-0 down to beat Clonakilty 9-8 in their west Cork relegation derby tie.
Eoin Deasy gave Clon’ a 3-0 interval lead with a penalty and they extended that lead with a try by Shane Scannell.
Skibbereen were reduced to fourteen when one of their players received a red card but with a gale force wind at their back in the second half three penalties from Denis McCarthy earned the home side the points.
Muskerry are still second last four points from safety after they could only muster a losing bonus point at Galbally where they lost 10-5.
A try by James Taylor converted by Liam Casey gave Galbally a 7-5 half time lead. Daniel Horgan scored Muskerry’s try.
The only score of the second half was a Casey penalty.
In the Second Division the big shock was St. Mary’s who are in second place lost at home to Youghal 27-8.
Killian Daly, Scott O’Sullivan, Tomás O’Neill and Keith McCarthy scored tries for Youghal and McCarthy kicked two conversions and two penalties. John Madigan was Mary’s try scorer and Adam Guerin kicked a penalty.
Leaders Waterpark received a walk over from Ennis a result that sees the Clare side being relegated to the Third Division next season.
Joining Ennis in the Third Division will be Charleville after they lost away to Kinsale 18-7. Paddy Brown scored a try for Charleville and Jack Doyle kicked a penalty.
Presentation eased their relegation worries with a 20-10 home win over Ballincollig.
James Ryan and Evan Bennett scored tries for the Rathuard side and Craig Airey converted both and also kicked two penalties.
Richard Dineen scored Ballincollig’s try and Charlie Boland converted and also added a penalty.
Tralee and Castleisland played out a 12-12 draw at O’Dowd Park. Darragh O’Neill scored two tries for Tralee and Ben O’Neill converted one. Gary Downey scored two tries for Castleisland and Dan O’Shea kicked a conversion.
Mallow defeated Crosshaven 13-3 with a try from Timmy Fitzgerald. Jimmy Glynn converted and also added two penalties. Ian Smith replied with a penalty for Crosshaven.

The Waterford City v Thurles game was postponed.
Highfield defeated Cork Constitution 31-0 in the Munster Seconds League South. Kieran Duggan, Conor Cunningham, Derek Houlihan were Highfield’s try scorers and they were also awarded a penalty try. Duggan kicked four conversions and a penalty.
