The Fourth Round of the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Cup produced some exciting ties with both Mitchelstown and Skibbereen causing major shocks.

Mitchelstown playing their first season at Junior level in Division Three of the Munster Junior League and having already knocked out Second Division Presentation, took another big scalp in the fourth round with an 11-10 home win over Second Division leaders Waterpark.
The visitors led 10-6 at half time with a penalty try and a conversion and penalty by Alex Molloy. Patrick Molloy kicked two penalties for Mitchelstown.
The only score of the second half was a try by Morgan Fox in the dying minutes of the game.

Mitchelstown’s reward in the fifth round is a home tie against the holders Young Munster who defeated Waterford City in their fourth round tie at Tom Clifford Park.
The Cookies led 11-0 at half time with a try by Alan McCluskey and two penalties by Tom McHale. Shane Fenton scored a second try for the home side and McHale added two further penalties.

Skibbereen travelled to Dooradoyle and defeated a fancied Garryowen side 6-3.
Denis McCarthy kicked two penalties for Skibbereen and Dylan Sheehan replied with one for Garryowen.

Richmond will now have to travel to Skibbereen in Round Five after their 27-8 home win over UL Bohemian.
Sean Bennett scored two tries for Richmond and Pat McNamara and Tomas O’Brien got one each. Brian Mullins kicked two conversions and a penalty.

In the game of the day at the Mardyke Bandon defeated U.C.C. 45-17 to setup a home tie with Galbally.
Kerry Desmond scored two tries for the winners, Gerard Crowley, Tom Ferguson and Colin Jackson got one each as well as a penalty try. Desmond converted all six tries and also added a penalty.
Cillian Ansboro replied with two tries for College and Darragh Dennehy got one with Andrew Duggan kicking a conversion.

Galbally defeated St. Mary’s 27-5. TJ Coffey scored two tries for the winners and Frank Cussen, Anthony Bredy and Patrick O’Donoghue got one each. John Kearns kicked a conversion.
Adam Guerin was St. Mary’s try scorer.

The Old Crescent v Clanwilliam tie had to go to extra time before Clanwilliam emerged victorious on a 33-23 scoreline.
Clanwilliam raced into an early 13-0 lead with a Jack O’Dwyer try and a conversion and two penalties by Niall Leahy. Tries by Matthew Hanly and Darragh O’Brien left it 13-10 at half time.
A Clanwilliam try by Paul Ryan converted by Leahy made it 20-10.
Hanly kicked two penalties to leave four points between the sides.
Twelve minutes from time Leahy kicked his third penalty but five minutes from time John O’Dwyer scored a try for Crescent and Josh Page converted to send the game into extra time.
In the first period of extra time Leahy went in for a try, conversion and a penalty to set up an away tie against Cobh Pirates in the fifth round.

Cobh Pirates needed two injury time tries to see off a gallant Kanturk side 36-28.
Brian Langford, Alan Devlin, Steve Hickey, Conor O’Driscoll, Owen McSweeney and Aaron O’Flynn scored tries for the Pirates and Ian Jones kicked three conversions. Kanturk replied with tries from Kealon Buckley, Kieran Sexton, Sean Lenachan and James Sherlock all of which Noel O’Connor converted.

A last minute try from Michael Lynch converted by Ian Smith helped Crosshaven to a 24-18 home win over Clonakilty. Dave Walsh and Chris Murray were Crosshaven’s other try scorers with Smith converting both and also adding a penalty.
Clonakilty who trailed 17-12 at half time had tries from Steven Cotter and Ogie Scannell with Eoin Deasy converting one. Two second half penalties by Deasy looked like sending Clon’ through until Lynch’s try decided it.

Crosshaven will now face Cork Constitution in the next round after the Temple Hill side defeated Muskerry 29-10. Cian Barry, Vincent O’Brien, Sean O’Leary and Barry Galvin scored tries for Con’ and Jamie Murphy kicked three conversions and a penalty.
Dave Hennessey replied with a try for Muskerry and Shane Burke kicked a conversion and penalty.

Three second half tries from Rory O’Connor, Kieran Murphy and Andy Kelleher proved enough for Cashel who came from 3-0 down at half time to beat Newcastle West 19-8.
Ryan O’Donnell converted two of the Cashel tries.
Sean Herlihy kicked a penalty for the visitors and James Kelly scored a try.

Shannon will now host Cashel in the next round after their 17-6 home win over Thomond in a hard fought encounter that saw a player from each side being red carded.
All the scoring came in the opening half with Nathan Randles and Charlie Carmody scoring tries for Shannon and Ben Sargent converted both and also added a penalty.
Dean Jones kicked two penalties for Thomond.

Midleton won the east Cork derby defeating Youghal 12-5. Josh Deady scored two tries and a conversion for the winners. Jonathon Ormond scored Youghal’s try.
Midleton will now travel to Clonmel in the next round after the Tipperary side received a walk over from Ennis.

A last minute try from Liam O’Connor earned Abbeyfeale a 20-19 away win at Old Christians.
Brian Collins and Adam Roche were Abbeyfeale’s other try scorers and Derry O’Connor kicked a conversion and a penalty.
The home side had tries from Alan Duggan, Alan O’Dea and Matthew Kelly with John Marnell adding two conversions.

Highfield will now host Abbeyfeale in Round Five after their 21-6 victory against St. Senan’s at Woodleigh Park.
Tries from Colm Gallagher and Owen Linnell both converted by Dylan Horgan had the home side 14-3 ahead at the interval.
They were awarded a penalty try which Horgan converted.
Dale O’Loughlin kicked two penalties for the Clare side.

Mallow booked their place in the quarter finals of the Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Plate with a 15-7 win away to Sunday’s Well and will face Charleville away in the last eight.
Sean Roynane and Tim Fitzgerald scored tries for Mallow. Nessan Guilfoyle was the ‘Well’s try scorer which Michael Boland converted.

In a rehearsal of the Martin O’Sullivan Cup Final Killarney continued their recent good run with a 20-0 home win against Fethard in an outstanding Junior League Division Three tie.
Alan Mulligan, Paul O’Sullivan and Damien O’Carroll scored tries for the Kerry side and Paudie Sheahan kicked a penalty and a conversion.
