Progress was made in Bank of Ireland Munster Junior Cup as only three sides through to the quarter finals of the competition due to the amount of postponements.

Bandon’s hopes of retaining their Munster Junior Cup ended at Temple Hill after the Cork Constitution defeated them 27-12. Dylan Murphy, Sonny Dwyer, Michael Clune and Lar Coughlan scored tries for Cork Constitution. Greg Higgins kicked two conversions and Brendan Monahan added a penalty. Jerry Crowley and Gearoid Crowley were Bandon’s try scorers and Kerry Desmond kicked a conversion.

Con’ will be away to the winners of the Sunday’s Well v Young Munster tie in the quarter final after Crosshaven gave Sunday’s Well a walk over.

Shannon were comfortable 45-12 winners against U.C.C. at Coonagh. They scored seven tries with Keith Kavanagh contributing a try and four conversions. Adam Moylan, Pa Ryan, Luke Moylan, Jack O’Halloran and Mike O’Gorman were their other try scorers and they were also awarded a penalty try.

Shannon must now await the winners of the postponed tie between Castleisland and Kilfeacle.

A last minute try from Dean O’Halloran converted by Tadgh Bennett earned Richmond a 24-22 home win against Waterpark, Gearoid Phelan opened the scoring after three minutes with a try and Bennett’s conversion and a penalty gave the home side an early 10-0 lead. Waterpark rallied and four penalties and a try and conversion by Tom Kiersey had Waterpark ahead 19-10 at the end of the third quarter. A penalty try brought Richmond back into the contest but a fifth Kiersey penalty looked like giving Waterpark a surprise victory until O’Halloran’s late try.

Richmond will be away to the winners of next week’s tie between Garryowen and Mitchelstown after the north Cork side received a walk over from Kinsale.

Cobh Pirates recorded their first win of the season with a narrow 19-17 home win over Charleville. A try by Calvin Jordan gave Cobh a 5-3 interval lead. Cathal O’Carroll replied with a penalty for the visitors. Eoin McSweeney and Ian O’Donovan added further tries for Cobh and Adam Devlin converted both. Charleville replied with a try from Eoin McMahon which O’Carroll converted and a penalty try.

Cobh will now face Clonmel next week.

Brian Fitzpatrick was Cashel’s hero in their 24-10 home win over Muskerry; he scored two tries and two conversions with Frank Kelleher and Paul Perrin getting a try each. Muskerry replied with a try by Cillian Horgan and a conversion and a penalty by Jonathan Buckley.

Cashel will now be at home to Tralee in next week’s fifth round tie.

Newcastle West booked their quarter final spot with a 15-0 victory at Galbally. Darragh Tracey and Tom Kelleher scored tries and Sean Herlihy kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Fermoy booked their place in the semi-finals of the Munster Junior Plate after their 12-10 victory over Ballincollig. Dylan Lacey kicked four penalties for Fermoy and Dave Power replied with two tries for Ballincollig.

Bantry Bay are through to their first ever Munster Final after they defeated Douglas-Carrigaline 8-6 in the semi-final of the Munster Junior Bowl. Jason Wycherley scored a try and a penalty for the winners and Padraig McSweeney replied with two penalties for Douglas-Carrigaline.

Clonmel defeated Clanwilliam 55-0 in Division 1 of the Munster Junior League to move into second place two points behind leaders Richmond. They scored nine tries, two of them penalty tries. Nick Thomson scored three and Robbie Coates two with Greg Carroll and Stephen Pyke getting one apiece. Pat O’Connor kicked two conversions and Darren Cass one.

In Division Two Thurles have moved into second place following their 15-10 home win against Mallow six points behind leaders Crosshaven. Shane Moloney and Kevin Maher scored tries for Thurles and Aidan Dwyer added a conversion and a penalty. David Walsh replied with a try for Mallow and Jimmy Glynn kicked a conversion and a penalty.

St. Mary’s defeated Waterford City 17-10 to move into second place. Daragh Kerley scored two tries for the Saints and Paul Loughran added a try and a conversion. Jake O’Neill and James Halligan were Waterford City’s try scorers.

Ennis have reached the final of the Martin O’Sullivan Cup after their 31-6 home win over Killorglin. Sean O’Mahony and Rory O’Halloran each scored two tries for Ennis and Mike McMahon got one. O’Halloran added three conversions. Luke O’Shea replied with two penalties for Killorglin.

Garryowen and Shannon will contest the Gleeson League Final after they both won their respective semi-finals.

Cork Constitution have retained their Junior 2 League South title after their 20-0 away win at Dunmanway and Highfield’s 33-17 win away to Dolphin.

Darragh McDermott, Gavin Fitzgerald and Cormac Foley scored tries for Con’ and Simon Barry kicked a penalty and a conversion.

Eoin Keating scored two tries for Highfield in their victory. Dave Murphy, Olan O’Leary and James O’Donnell got one each. Dave Eustace kicked four conversions.
