Greg O'Mahony scored in Skibbereen's 24-19 away win against St. Senan's

There was plenty of drama in Division One of the Munster Junior League as Clonmel took over as leaders in the top flight.

Leaders Richmond lost away to Newcastle West 24-19. There were three red cards shown with two of them to Newcastle West. The home side led 3-0 at half time. Sean Murphy, Declan Moloney and Sean Ivess scored tries for Newcastle West. Sean Herlihy kicked three conversions and a penalty. Kealon Stephenson, James Reeves and Eoin Hanly replied with tries for Richmond and Brian Mullins kicked two conversions.

Clonmel defeated St. Senan’s 33-17 at the Clare venue with the Tipperary side having the bonus point wrapped up after twenty minutes as they led 26-0. Dylan Cadogan, Conor Pearson, Greg Carroll, Luke Hogan and Luke Noonan scored tries for Clonmel. Darren Cass kicked three conversions and Cadogan one. Fernando Gallant and Warren Kelly replied with tries for Senan’s and Craig Airey converted both and also added a penalty.

Bandon staged a dramatic come back to share the spoils away to Abbeyfeale 25-25. At one stage Bandon trailed 20-6. Kieran McCarthy, James O’Mara and Philip Collins scored tries for Abbeyfeale and Stevie Daly kicked a conversion and a penalty. Kerry Desmond kicked two penalties for Bandon. Tries from Ben Ridgeway, Tom Ferguson and Mark Bateman and two conversions from Desmond put Bandon 25-20 ahead but a late try from Collins earned Abbeyfeale a draw.

Skibbereen made it three wins from three after their 20-10 home win over Kanturk. Greg Mahony scored two tries for Skibb’ and Daniel Kingston one. Matthew Bushe kicked a conversion and a penalty. Ronan O’Brien and Michael Bradley replied with tries for Kanturk.

Crosshaven’s unbeaten run came to an end when they lost at home to Kilfeacle 23-20. Shane Luby and Ciaran Lowry scored tries for Kilfeacle and Brodie Flannery converted both and added three penalties. Finn Foley scored two tries for Crosshaven and Oisin Conway got one. Cian McGovern kicked a conversion and a penalty.

Clanwilliam defeated Waterpark at Ballinakill 17-16 with tries from Dave McCormack and Niall Leahy with Leahy converting both and also adding a penalty. Hugh Connors scored a try for Waterpark and Glen Kavanagh converted and added three tries.

St. Mary’s recorded their first win of the campaign with a 19-13 away win at Galbally. The Saints were awarded a penalty try and Paul Loughran kicked four penalties. Tommy and Brendan Childs scored tries for Galbally and Tommy Childs kicked a penalty.

In Division 2 Mallow have opened up a six point gap after they defeated second placed Kinsale 47-6 to record their third bonus point victory. The scored eight tries with Jimmy Glynn getting two and Tyson Stephens, Owen Glynn, Mike O’Flynn, Mike Sweeney, Dave Breen and Hugh Barry one apiece. Breen added a penalty and Jimmy Glynn 2 conversions. Johnny Sheehan replied with two penalties for Kinsale.

Clonakilty have moved into second place after their 19-8 away win in Thurles. Batt Duggan, Damien Kozik and Mike O’Hea scored tries for Clon’ and Eoghan Deasy added two conversions. Eoghan O’Dwyer scored a try for Thurles and John Lillis kicked a penalty.

Charleville have moved into third place level on points with Clonakilty after their 31-14 bonus point home win against Ballincollig. Jake Madigan scored three tries for Charleville and Ger Sheehan got one. Jesse Smith converted all for tries and also added a penalty. Aaron O’Flynn and Michael Ward replied with tries for Ballincollig and Charlie Boland converted both.

A last minute drop goal from Ciaran O’Connor earned Muskerry a 22-21 home win over Fermoy. The visitors led 21-0 at half time with tries from Eoin Lacey, Mike Sweeney and Ed O’Connor all converted by Dylan Lacey. Muskerry replied with tries by Mark Jones, Martin Muldoon and Aidan Murray. Jonathan Buckley converted two of the tries.

Old Christians lost away to Fethard 2-17 with Andrew Phelan scoring the winning try late in the game for Fethard. Conor Kavanagh scored a try for Fethard and Gary Kavanagh converted and added a penalty. Jeff Hodder, Chris Hartnett and Jack O’Connell scored tries for the Rathcooney side and John Marnell kicked one conversion.

Youghal got back to winning ways with a 21-12 away win at Castleisland. Scott O’Sullivan scored two tries for Youghal and Keith McCarthy kicked a conversion, two penalties and a drop goal. Kieran Downey and William Nolan were try scorers for Castleisland and Connie Reynolds kicked a conversion.

Waterford City and Cobh Pirates played out a 20-20 draw. Simon O’Hara, James Halligan and Dave O’Connor scored tries for Waterford City and Halligan added a conversion and a penalty.

Mitchelstown remain top of Division Three after their 29-21 away win at Killorglin. Jack Norris, Owen Burke, Shane Molan and Denis Sheehan scored tries for Mitchelstown and Tom O’Callaghan kicked three conversions and a penalty. Killorglin led 21-3 at half time with Darragh O’Shea scoring two tries and Kyle Byrne one for the home side. Luke O’Shea converted all three tries.

Killarney defeated Ennis 29-9. Paudie Sheehan, Ger Moynihan and Connie O’Leary scored tries for Killarney. They were also awarded a penalty try. Luke O’Shea converted all three tries. Ronan O’Halloran kicked three penalties for Ennis.

Tralee recorded a 32-13 away win at Bantry. Eoin O’Carroll. Jack Quilter, Fearghal Ó’Nuallain and Luke Mullally were Tralee’s try scorers. Ben O’Neill kicked three conversions and two penalties. Gareth Murphy was Bantry’s try scorer and Andre Polivka kicked a conversion and two penalties.
