The leaders in all three Divisions of the Munster Junior League were idle this weekend due to the bad weather but over half the games did go ahead.

With both Crosshaven and Kilfeacle whose games were postponed and they are involved in the All Ireland Junior Cup next weekend fixing their outstanding games is going to be a major issue.

The top game in Division One saw second placed Newcastle West draw level with leaders Kilfeacle after their 18-6 home win over Thomond. Adam Guerin kicked two first half penalties for Thomond but with the aid of a gale force wind six second half penalties from Sean Herlihy saw Newcastle West take the spoils.

Jimmy Glynn converted and also added a penalty. They were also awarded a penalty try. Geoff Deegan replied with a penalty for Waterpark.

Clonakilty kept their hopes alive of a top four finish with an 8-3 away win at Galbally. Olan Fehilly scored a try for Clonakilty and Eoin Deasy kicked a penalty. A last minute penalty from Liam Casey earned Galbally a losing bonus point.

Kinsale kept their promotion hopes alive with a 15-0 home win over Thurles. Richard Callanan and Dave Kingston scored tries for Kinsale and Sean Kingston added a conversion and a penalty.

Muskerry travelled to St. Mary’s where a Lewis Grice try and a conversion and a penalty by Rob Cahill gave them a 10-3 victory. Jazz Pendejito replied with a penalty for the Saints.

Fethard picked up their first win of the season defeating Tralee 57-7 on their home ground.
