Keohane & Murphy-Crowe Named For Canada 7s
14th April 2016 By Munster Rugby
Ireland Women’s Sevens squad has been named to compete in the Canada 7s this weekend in Langford.
Head Coach Anthony Eddy has named his side which includes Munster’s Claire Keohane and Amee Leigh Murphy-Crowe.
Both players featured in last weekend’s winning side that defeated Japan 26-15 at the Atlanta Sevens play-offs to claim the Bowl title in the World Rugby Women’s Series.
The Irish team have been drawn in Pool C with England, Canada and Japan.
Speaking this week about both the Atlanta 7s and the up and coming Canada 7s, Anthony Eddy said;
"Winning the Bowl in Atlanta was pleasing for us, we didn't have a great start to the tournament on day one, but we made amends for that on day two and were happy with how things went.
Looking ahead to Langford this weekend, it's really about trying to build on our performances from Atlanta. The groups are always tough at the World Series, but we're hoping to keep on improving tournament by tournament.”
