Keohane To Captain Ireland Sevens For Amsterdam

The Ireland Women’s Sevens management team have selected a squad of 12 to travel to the Amsterdam 7s Invitational Tournament this weekend as they continue to develop and build the playing experience of the Irish Women’s panel.

World Sevens Series veteran, Munster’s Claire Keohane will captain the side alongside four of her fellow Munster colleagues.

Munster and Ireland 15s captain Niamh Briggs, who recently joined the sevens programme, has been named as well as her UL Bohemian colleague Liz Burke.

Nicole Cronin
from Shannon, who has previously represented Ireland at the World Series has also been named along with Chloe Blackmore who has represented her country in Sevens at underage level, captaining the Under 18 side at Rugby Europe Grand Prix in Belgium last September.

Ireland have been drawn in Pool A of the Amsterdam 7s Invitational Tournament with the Swiss Women's Sevens, Amsterdam Ladies and Team Tangoed.
