Kilfeacle Kids Warm-Up For Summer Camps
18th June 2015 By Munster Rugby
Kilfeacle and District RFC, in conjunction with Munster Rugby, recently ran a national school tag blitz for fifth and sixth year boys and girls from the area.
In total 10 teams from across four local schools participated; Bansha, Golden, Tankerstown and Thomastown.
All schools have been engaging with the 'Play Rugby' programme thanks to the ongoing support of Mike Lonergan, Kilfeacle RFC so this blitz was a great opportunity for participants to further develop their skills, knowledge and understanding of the game whilst the main emphasis was on having fun.
A fantastic day was had by all involved with the main focus of the day being to promote rugby in the Kilfeacle area and increase participation to the club. The event was also an opportunity to notify pupils of the upcoming Bank of Ireland Munster Rugby Summer Camps in the area – full details here.
Kilfeacle RFC have a long and proud reputation for the introduction and development of young players and it was hugely positive to see the majority of participants at the blitz were already involved in rugby within the club.
