Laya Healthcare Support Charity Rugby Blitz

Munster Rugby will hold a U17 Schools 10 a-side Blitz, supported by Laya Healthcare, this March at PBC, Wilton, Cork, with all proceeds going to SHINE centre for autism.
The blitz will be divided into two pools with ‘A’ and ‘B’ schools competing in Pool 1 and ‘C’, Associate and Non-Rugby playing schools competing in Pool 2.
Laya Healthcare will donate prizes on the day for the winners of both pools.
All participants will raise their own sponsorship as part of a Transition Year student initiative and donate these funds to autism charity SHINE.
The Shine Centre for Autism is operated by The Irish Progressive Association for Autism (IPAA), a Cork based Voluntary Organisation and Registered Charity. Since its establishment in 2001 by a handful of concerned parents to secure services for their children with autism, the organisation has grown in the intervening years and has worked with many hundreds of children and families across Cork city and county to secure assessments, therapies, services and appropriate education for their children.
The Shine Centre offers the following services to children with autism:
- Early Learning Unit for Pre-school Children
- Personal & Life Skills Programmes (PALS)
- Social Skills Programmes
- Mainstream Educational support Service
- After Schools Clubs
- Parent & Teacher Training Courses
- Seminars
- Telephone Advise Service
