LAYA Healthcare Support Schools U17 Blitz

Munster Rugby U17 Schools 10 a-side blitz, sponsored by Laya Healthcare, recently took place at PBC grounds, Wilton, Cork, with proceeds donated to SHINE Centre for Autism.

Twenty schools signed up for the one day event which saw over 360 players taking part in fifteen minute games over four pitches.

The Munster Association of Referees were on hand to officiate proceedings, which saw an energetic brand of expansive rugby throughout the day. With extra bonus points offered for extra tries scored, all teams expressed themselves effectively to create a great a display of high tempo running rugby.

The host school PBC met Limerick school Ard Scoil Ris in the final of the ‘A & B' school section and following an entertaining game of free flowing rugby narrowly came out on top. Colaiste Phobal Beanntrai defeated an impressive Pobalscoil Na Trionoide, Youghal in another very entertaining contest to claim the ‘C’ school top prize.

Munster Rugby Head Coach Rob Penney was on hand to present prizes and complimented all teams for their participation in what was a very exciting and highly competitive tournament.
