Munster Rugby recently ran a Leprechaun Rugby Coaching Course for students attending the NLN (National Learning Network) in Tralee, Co. Kerry.
Coordinated by rugby officers Ray Gadsden and Ed Barnes, the students spent the day learning about Leprechaun Rugby and its importance in teaching young players the game .
All participating students took part in practical and theory modules which focused on the primary core skills and the principles of rugby. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of physical literacy for the young player and also how the players learn through the fun element of the sport.
Students learned how to coach Leprechaun rugby and will continue their news skills by coaching in local national schools.
