Leprechaun Rugby Course At St Ailbes Secondary School

For the second year running Munster Rugby ran a Leprechaun Rugby Coaching Course for transition year students attending St Ailbes Secondary School in Tipperary Town.

Over the course of two days the students were tutored on Leprechaun Rugby and its importance in teaching young players the game.

All participating students took part in practical and theory modules which focused on the primary core skills and the principles of rugby.

Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of physical literacy for the young player and also how the players learn through the fun element of the sport.

Students will now apply what they have learnt by gaining valuable work experience in local National Schools through carrying out Leprechaun rugby sessions and eventually organising their own Lep Rugby Blitz in the coming weeks.

Munster Rugby would like to take this opportunity to thank Johnny Lonergan of St Ailbes for his assistance in coordinating this course.
