Munster Rugby, in partnership with the Cork English College, are currently hosting English & Rugby Camps for foreign students aged from 13 to 17 years, with our young visitors in full swing at the province
The two week programme which takes place at Cork Institutive of Technology, has been designed to give participants the opportunity to learn English and rugby incorporating the combination of language tuition in the mornings and on-pitch training in the afternoons.
Coached by Munster Community Rugby Officers the students are also being educated on nutrition and strength and conditioning as part of the programme.
As part of their rugby experience the students paid a trip to the High Performance Centre at University of Limerick where they watched the Munster Senior Squad training session. The students took the opportunity to pose for selfies with the players and get their autographs. The group also visited Thomond Park on Saturday, getting a tour of the world-famous venue.
Speaking on behalf of Munster Rugby Damon Urlich, Community Rugby Manager said “this is the first of two English & Rugby camps we are hosting this summer. The last fortnight has been excellent and both players and coaches alike have thoroughly enjoyed the different aspects of the programme.”
