Level One Coaching Course in Limerick
29th May 2007 By Munster Rugby
Thirty eight coaches particpated in the first Level One course of the season last weekend at the University of Limerick.
The course was organised and run by the Munster Coaching and Development Office with the Regional Development Officers (RDO), John Lacey, Paul Collins and Mark Hickey at the helm. Demand was high for the course as only two are run at this level each year in Munster.
Thirty eight coaches were selected for the three day course and the standard of applicants was high which led to a successful course and a great weekend. Tutors for the course included the National Coaching Development Officer, Colin Moran, Munster Rugby Set-Piece Coach Brian Hickey, the Munster Rugby Elite Development Officer, Ian Costello, and the Munster Youths Head Coach, Philip Rees.
In order to complete their IRFU Level 1 Accreditation, the applicants will go on to attend a Level 1 Link course, log 40 hours of coaching and finally have a coaching session observed by an RDO.
We look forward to the next Level 1 Coaching Course which takes place in Cork in August.
