Limerick Girls Schools Attend Rugby Blitz Days
9th June 2016 By Munster Rugby
Munster Rugby recently held two girls blitz days for primary and secondary school pupils in Limerick.
Primary school players from St Bridgets, St Johns and The Queen of Peace took part in the first one day event at Young Munster RFC coordinated by Munster Rugby Girls Participation Officer Kenneth McNamara.
The second blitz was the third event for Castletroy, Laurill Hill, St Patricks, St Annes, St Marys and St Nessans secondary school pupils.
The emphasis on the blitz days was an introduction to rugby for many of the girls, however there was a noticeable improvement on skill levels and techniques from players that have competed in previous blitzes.
All teams played a number of games each providing great entertainment with some fantastic rugby skills on display.
The players were a great credit to their schools and demonstrating great sportsmanship, at the end of every game lined up to shake hands with their opposition.
