Limerick Primary School Blitz For Girls

14th April 2015 By Munster Rugby

Limerick Primary School Blitz For Girls

Munster Rugby held an All Girls Blitz for the local Limerick City Primary Schools in Richmond RFC last month.

The day itself consisted of five schools who had completed the 'Play Rugby' programme and each team were given the chance to play against one another and put what they had learnt into practice.

Each school who entered the 'Play Rugby' programme received a minimum of four rugby sessions consisting of fun games, core skills and physical literacy.

The icing on the cake for the 150 plus girls who attended was the arrival of the Irish Women's Captain, Niamh Briggs and the Women's 6 Nations trophy.

A fantastic day was had by all and a huge thank you to Mary Queen of Ireland Girls National School, Presentation, St John's, St Patrick's and St. Munchin's primary schools for their efforts on the day.

Also, a huge thanks to Richmond RFC for their hospitality and to the volunteers from the Richmond Rabbits women's team for all their help.

If your girls school would like to enter the 'Play Rugby' programme or daughter would like to play rugby at a local rugby club, please contact Aiden McNulty at: aidenmcnulty@munsterrugby.ie""
