Limerick Schools Come Together For Charity Derby
11th December 2018 By The Editor
Crescent College Comprehensive and St Munchin’s College, will play one another to raise much needed funds for charity this Friday 14 December at the Markets Field (kick-off 5pm).
In doing so, the schools will play each other for a cup in honour of two former Games Masters, who by coincidence, coached against each other, the late Dudley Herbert and the late Sean Conneely.
This is the second year that the Cup will be played for and both an excellent match and good attendance last year means this year’s match is very much anticipated.
Both schools have set-up an organising group within each school and are looking forward to the event.
This year, the sole charity that will benefit from the Dudley Herbert-Sean Conneely Cup is the Peter McVerry Trust, who do much good and necessary work within Limerick and beyond.
A good crowd is anticipated to witness the school Cup “derby” for such a worthy cause.
