Limerick Schools in Sevens Action
1st December 2009 By Munster Rugby
Three secondary schools from the Limerick regeneration area recently took part in a sevens blitz organised by the Munster Rugby Domestic Game department.
Students under 15 years of age represented St. Endas, St. Nessans and CBS Sexton Street in the one day sevens tournament.
All the players were in great spirit despite the adverse weather conditions and all looked forward to a fun day of rugby.
Each team played four games and the rugby displayed on the day was fantastic. The students showed off their running, passing and tackling skills and plenty of tries were scored on the day.
The sportsmanship and fair play was excellent and all participants were a credit to their schools.
It is hoped to run these blitzes on a regular basis to help develop rugby within the schools and regeneration areas.
The Munster Rugby staff on the day were Community Rugby Officers Ross Callaghan, George Guilfoyle and Ed Daly.
