Mallow RFC Get Ready For Annual Tag Festival

Mallow RFC are set to host their 5th annual Tag Festival at Carhookeal for the first time on Saturday 11 August.

This year, building on the success of previous festivals, the club will also introduce the Perpetual Cup for the first time.

The aim is to field 20 teams, with four teams from the Cope Foundation competing in an adapted tag rugby blitz, including the club’s very own Mallow Barbarians.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day pitch side and entertainment will be provided in the festival marquee.

Former Munster and Ireland rugby player, Mick Galwey, will once again attend this year’s festival as the event’s patron and brand ambassador.

Tria Oil and the Hibernian Hotel & Leisure Centre are this year’s co-sponsors of the event.

The festival has received terrific support since in started in 2013 and the club are looking forward to this year’s tournament, which will provide players, supporters and spectators with fast-paced tag rugby.

Booking information is available at www.mallowrfctag.com (early bird offer: €180).
