McMahon & Storey Host Scrum & Lineout Workshop
8th December 2015 By Munster Rugby
The West Munster Scrum and Lineout Workshops took place last night at the Tralee Sport and Leisure Complex as part of the Munster Rugby Coach Development programme.
Due to poor weather conditions there was a late change of venue from IT Tralee to facilitate practical modules which had to be conducted indoors.
Coach Development Officer Fiach O’Loughlin and Community Rugby Officer Ray Gadsden coordinated the workshop that focused on scrum and lineout play for coaches working at stages 2, 3, and 4.
Guest tutors on the night were former Munster players Colm McMahon who worked on the lineout element and Mike Storey who tutored on scrummaging.
Over 30 coaches from clubs and schools in West Munster were in attendance with Under 18 players from Tralee RFC, Castleisland RFC and IT Tralee facilitating the practical element of the workshop.
Following the session McMahon and Storey held a questions and answers forum for all coaches that took part.
This was the first of a number of workshops scheduled for the West Munster area. Upcoming workshops are open to all club and schools coaches at stages 2,3, and 4.
