P.B.C. moved to the top of the Bowen Shield after an emphatic win over Glenstal Abbey at Wilton.

Pres’ made it three wins from three with this comprehensive win, which saw them run in five tries in ideal playing conditions.
They opened the scoring when wing forward Matt Curtin crashed over and Mark O’Callaghan converted.
Kevin O’Keeffe was off target with an easy penalty attempt for the visitors but O’Callaghan extended the home side’s lead with a penalty.
The home side were rocked when a good back line move by the visitors saw Andrew Boland touch down and O’Keeffe converted. A try by winger Ian Long made it 15-7 for the home side just before the half time whistle.
It was all one way traffic in the second half and Pres’ extended their advantage after five minutes when Aidan Slattery scored in the corner and O’ Callaghan converted.
Tom Ryan did come close to scoring a try for the visitors but was tackled to touch just short of the line.
Curtin scored his second try fifteen minutes from time and completed the scoring when O’Callaghan went in for a try in the final minute which he also converted.

McCarthy Cup Round Up:
Pres’ remain unbeaten in the Under 15 League after a hard earned 18-12 win over Glenstal at Wilton. Two tries from Nicky Boland and a conversion by Max Ryan gave the visitors a 12-10 half time lead. Andrew Ring scored a try for Pres’ and Dara O’Sullivan kicked a penalty and a conversion.
A try by Paul Kiernan following a darting run and an O’Sullivan penalty earned the Mardyke College the points.
Rockwell travelled to Bandon Grammar and came away with a 48-5 victory. Ian O’Reilly scored four tries, Ben Reilly got two, five conversions and a penalty and William Coffey also scored a try. Gavin Coombes replied with a try for the home side.
