Mini Coaching Course Held In Cork Constitution FC

The Munster Rugby Development Department recently held an IRFU Stage 1 Coaching Course in Cork Constitution FC.

As with the previous week’s course in Thomond Park, the event was full to capacity with 46 coaches from a variety of clubs in the South Munster area in attendance and emphasised the key ‘FUNdamentals’ of coaching mini rugby from U7s to U12s.

The core focus at this stage is the development of coaching competencies in the areas of running, passing, catching, tackling and identifying the key principles of ‘Go Forward’ and ‘Support’ play.

The course also emphasises the development of Rugby Prime as a non-contact modified game for U7s to U12s with scrum and lineouts during later stages of mini rugby.
