It was a memorable day in Musgrave Park as the Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup got underway on Monday with 28 different teams from around competing.

It was good day for Munster’s three sides competing at the Mixed Ability Rugby World Cup.

The Sunday’s Well Rebels had the honour of getting the tournament underway with the opening game and they edged out Surrey Chargers 20-0 and they then followed that up with a 30-10 win over Unione Rugby Capitolina.

The West Cork Jesters also went two from two with a 12-10 win over English side Bumble Bees RUFC and they then secured a 10-0 side over Spanish side Gaztedi RT.

For the Ballincollig Trailblazers, the Cork side earned a 7-0 win over El Salvador in what was the very first women’s mixed ability Rugby World Cup match.
