Classy Castletroy Crash Past Glenstal
Full Time Score: Glenstal 16-18 Castletroy.
This highly contested match was won by the two tens and a missed kick from either side could have spelt defeat. Jamie Heuston began the scoring early on as Castletroy mauled half the field and received a penalty in front of the posts which was slotted over. Glenstal responded just a few minutes later with a fantastic kick from one of the stars of the day who is in Transition Year Ben Healy. Healy then kicked Glenstal into the lead after a few more minutes before Jamie Heuston replied with a great kick.
However, things soon turned bad for the Trojans who lost Heuston to a shoulder injury and Stephen Atkinson was given the responsibility of the 10 jersey. While Heuston was down Glenstal struck in the corner with the try scored by Mark Fleming and Ben Healy converting from the corner.
Castletroy came back into the game soon after that with Sean English scoring in the corner (Conversion Missed) and Alan Fitzgerald also putting his mark on the score-line (Atkinson Conversion Made). Ben Healy added another penalty to put Glenstal just two points behind but Castletroy were able to hold onto the lead and the game finished 16-18.

FT score: Glenstal 14-0 Castletroy.
A fantastic game from both sides saw Glenstal get past a courageous Castletroy team. The first half was filled with both sides going back and forth to try and grab the lead but missed penalties from both teams meant the half finished scoreless.
The second half started with a bang as Glenstal started fast and an overlap meant that star player Ronan Quinn was able to run in for the first try of the game under the posts (converted by Caolan Dooley). Castletroy reacted brilliantly though as Captain Ronan Keavney made a strong break before just getting caught inside the Glenstal 22.
Unfortunately for the Trojans Ronan Kiely received a yellow card for being offside. Meaning they would have to play with 14 men. Glenstal took full advantage and were able to snatch another try in the dying embers of the game. Castletroy tried to fight back into the game but left it too late and the games finished 14-0.
This victory means Glenstal move onto the quarters while Castletroy will have to wait for the draw tomorrow to see if they will go straight to the quarters or have to play in the second round.
