Mother Of All Tag At UL
19th March 2013 By Munster Rugby
For the second year running "The Mother of all Tag" a tag rugby initiative was held by Limerick City Sports Partnership, in conjunction with Munster Rugby.
The blitz was held in UL Pavilion, where mothers from all over the city participated and showed off their skills and knowledge of the game.
This programme aims to develop four local women’s tag rugby teams city wide. Teams participating on the day were Moyross, Southill Area Centre, Garryowen and Limerick City Sports Partnership combined with Southside CLASP (Community Leadership Arts and Sports Programme).
Each team consisted of 12 women, who have attended regular training sessions in their local area, where they have learned the basic skills, laws and variations of tag rugby.
Once players had gained a basic understanding of the game they all competed against each other in the tag blitz. The top two teams Moyross and The Limerick City Sports Partnership played off for the title with Moyross coming out as eventual winners.
