‘Mother Of All Tag’ Rugby Tournament
21st May 2015 By Munster Rugby
The fourth annual ‘Mother of all Tag’ rugby tournament was recently held in UL.
The tournament was hosted by Limerick Sports Partnership in conjunction with Munster Rugby, who provided the referees on the day.
The blitz, which took place in UL Pavilion, gave mothers from all over the city and county the chance to participate and showcase their skills and knowledge that have been gleaned over six months of training.
This programme aims to develop four local women's tag rugby teams city and county wide. Teams participating on the day were Moyross, Southill, West Limerick and Limerick Sports Partnership.
Each team have attended regular training sessions in their local area, where they have learned the basic skills, laws and variations of tag rugby.
Once players had gained a basic understanding of the game they all competed against each other in the tag tournament.
The top two teams, Moyross and West Limerick played off for the title with Moyross coming out as the eventual winners.
