Mount Sion Students Develop Coaching Skills

A total of 35 pupils from Mount Sion secondary school in Waterford recently took part in a transition year programme aimed at rugby coaching.

The programme, run by Munster Rugby coaching officers, has been designed to encourage the students to help coach rugby to pupils attending neighbouring national school, Mount Sion Primary.

The areas covered included Teaching Skills along with Planning and Preparation of a Session. The 4th year students will be expected to deliver a rugby activity to the young players where they will be assessed by Munster Rugby development officers as part of their development.
