About Move With Munster

The #MoveWithMunster campaign kicked off on February 11th with a live fitness workout on the MRSC Facebook page hosted by Munster Rugby Club & Community Rugby Officer, Dan O’Sullivan.

National guidelines on physical activity recommend adults do at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity per day and at least 60 minutes of moderate/vigorous activity per day for children/young people.

This can be difficult to do during the current lockdown with working or schooling at home. Hopefully, these workouts will give you a little spring in your step during the day.

Dan’s sessions will begin at 1.15pm every Tuesday and Thursday for the month of February and will last for 20 minutes. These sessions will consist of different bodyweight and strength & conditioning exercises and are aimed at adolescents and adults.

The Munster Rugby Supporters Club (MRSC) commented: “We are delighted to be supporting the #MoveWithMunster lunchtime live workouts with the Rugby Development Department through Facebook Live and we look forward to getting up and active with Dan on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the next few weeks.”

In addition to this, a series of fundamental movement videos will be distributed to schools in Munster over the coming weeks which will feature demonstrations from players in both the Munster men and women’s senior squads.

The videos will provide a useful PE resource for Primary School children who can carry them out at home during this lockdown, at the weekends, or for when schools return.

Each player will demonstrate a different animal movement that children throughout the province can do during their PE time. The videos will also be published on munsterrugby.ie and distributed on Munster Rugby’s social media channels.

Please ensure you take all precautions and put your safety first when carrying out any of these exercises at home.
