Emerging schools from Limerick and Clare competed against one another in Ennis

The Marks & Spencer Emerging Schools Programme recently continued in Ennis with 300 players from nine schools participating in 11-a-side blitzes at U15 and U17 age levels.

Players from schools across Limerick and Clare took part, including St John Bosco Community College, Rice College, St Caiman’s Community School, St Michael’s Community College, Coláiste Mhuire, Thomond Community College, Scoil Mhuire Agus Ide, Villiers School and Coláiste Chiaráin.

Community Rugby Officer, Euan Gee, co-ordinated the blitzes with the help of Ennis RFC.

The competitive programme includes three rounds of 11-a-side blitz days held in conferences throughout the province.

Teams that qualify from each conference go on to the finals day, which is scheduled to take place on the 11th of April at Thomond Park.

The next round of the Marks & Spencer Emerging Schools Programme will take place during the week commencing 19th February.
