Munster Association Of Referees Welcome New Members

The Munster Association of Referees hosted a New Members Course at the Charleville Park Hotel last weekend with over 20 volunteers from across the province in attendance.

The course was the second intake of new members for the 2018/19 season with the first New Members Course taking place in September of last year.

Chris Harrington, the recently appointed IRFU Referee Development Manager for the Munster province, delivered the course and covered all aspects of match officiating including the laws of the game.

MAR President, Nessan Frawley, was also in attendance to welcome the new members to the Association and wish them every success on their referee journey.

MAR Trial Member Mentors, John Cole and Stan Fuller, who will continue the new members’ education and coaching at a local level, were also introduced to the group.

Harrington will run workshops which focus on the different areas of the game and assist with any development opportunities for the new match officials.
