Munster Clubs Girls League Finals Day Roundup

All eyes were on Tanner Park last weekend as the Munster Clubs Girls League finals day took place.

With three game taking place across the day in Under-14, Under-16 and Under 18.5 categories, it was an absolutely fantastic festival of girl’s rugby.
The day kicked off with the U14 final between Ennis and Clonakilty.
Ennis had an interesting road to the final where they beat Ballincollig 40-26 in the quarter finals before drawing with Dunmanway-Bantry Bay 7-7.
Clonakilty on the other hand had a positive road to the final as they beat Fethard and District 24-14 and Garryowen-Richmond 26-14.
It was the West Cork side that clinched their first win of the afternoon as they beat Ennis 12-28 in a thrilling contest.
In the U16 final Richmond-Scarriff took on Dunmanway-Bantry Bay.
Richmond-Scarriff recorded back-to-back wins with the exact same score line to bag themselves a place in the final. They overcame both Clonakilty and Shannon with a score line of 24-19.
Dunmanway-Bantry Bay also had a clean run to the finals as they beat Garryowen 12-5 in the quarter finals and Bruff 27-5 in the semi-finals.
Richmond-Scarriff ran out as winners on the day as defeated Dunmanway-Bantry Bay 5-24.
The final game of the afternoon saw Clonakilty meet home side Ballincollig in the U18.5 final.
Clonakilty racked up a clean sheet in the quarter and semi-finals as they defeated Shannon 34-0 and Ballina-Killaloe 30-0.
Ballincollig met Limerick side Bruff-Garryowen-UL Bohemian in their quarter final winning the game 34-5 before they faced neighbours Dolphin in a fight to the finish clash in Tanner Park. Ballincollig just about came away with the win with a score line of 43-34.
Clonakilty snatched their second title of the day as defeated hosts Ballincollig 27-15.
