The race is on for the Munster Clubs Girls League final as Clonakilty faced Ballina-Killaloe and Ballincollig met Dolphin in the U18.5 semi-finals while Richmond-Scarriff clashed with Shannon and Dunmanway-Bantry Bay played Bruff in the U16 edition.

As Storm Eówyn battered our shores the first of two hotly contested U18.5 semi-finals kicked off last Saturday as Clonakilty took on Ballina-Killaloe in The Vale.

It was the West Cork outfit that came out best on the day as they beat Ballina-Killaloe 30-0 securing themselves a spot in the finals day on the 8th of February.

Originally fixed for the day Storm Eówyn graced our shores the game between Ballincollig and Dolphin was instead shifted to yesterday evening as the all Cork derby kicked off under lights in Tanner Park.

It was an end to end game with a total of 13 tries scored between the two sides.

It was Ballincollig that came up trumps at the full time whistle as they beat the Virgin Media Park based outfit 43-34.
