21st December 2012 By Munster Rugby
The Munster Rugby squad held their Captain’s run at Christian Brothers College, Cork, yesterday in advance of their RaboDirect PRO12 fixture against Connacht tomorrow night at the Sportsground (ko 5.15pm).
The day coincided with the launch of the school’s new 600 seater stadium at Landsdowne, which was officially opened by Munster Rugby Head Coach Rob Penney.
A number of CBC senior cup players were invited to take part in Munster’s training session which included past pupils Billy Holland, James Coughlan, Ivan Dineen, Stephen Archer, John Ryan, Donncha O’Callaghan and Duncan Williams.
Following the session, the Munster squad took time to sign autographs for CBC primary and secondary school students.
The Munster players then joined the CBC senior cup squad, teachers and coaches for Christmas dinner at the school canteen hosted by Principal Dr. Larry Jordon.
Munster Rugby would like to thank CBC for their hospitality throughout the day and wish them continued success in the rugby season ahead.
This was the third Captain’s run held in a Munster school this year and Doug Howlett and his squad will continue with this initiative throughout the season.
