Munster Junior Cup Draw

19th July 2012 By Munster Rugby

Munster Junior Cup Draw

The draw has been made for the next season’s Munster Junior Cup.

Fifty four sides will take part in this season’s competition and like last season it will be again seeded with the fourteen sides in Division One and the top six sides in the Munster Seconds League as well as twelve qualifiers from the earlier rounds.

Holders Cork Constitution will begin their campaign with a trip to either Kinsale or Presentation and this could be a tricky encounter. Also in their side of the draw are Garryowen who will start with an away trip to either Mallow or Ennis.

The top quarter of the draw contains eight sides that received byes into the fourth round. Junior League champions Richmond begin their campaign with a home tie against Cashel and the winners face either Clonmel or Shannon in the fifth round.

Last season’s beaten finalists Skibbereen will have home advantage should they progress up to the semi final stage and they will have to wait to see who emerges from the meetings of Nenagh Ormond against Charleville and Highfield and Killorglin.
