Munster Junior League Preview 13th November

A big weekend in the First Division of the Munster Junior League as the top two sides clash in a vital game that could have a big bearing on the destination of the league title and also which side will be in a strong position to claim a place in the All Ireland League next season.

Cashel and Crosshaven meet at the Tipperary venue on Saturday. Cashel currently lead the Cork side by two points. Both sides are unbeaten in the league although Cashel were knocked out of the All Ireland Junior Cup to suffer their only defeat of the season.
Recent meetings have shown the home side coming out on top and it will take a big effort by Crosshaven if they are to preserve their unbeaten run this season.

Richmond who are in joint second place are at home to Tralee. The Kerry side’s title ambitions received a major set back by that home defeat by Clanwilliam last week, but they will not make it easy for the defending champions and Richmond may just have to settle for a win without a bonus point.

Clanwilliam who have moved up to fourth position are at home to Thurles and they will be looking on this game as a possible five pointer.

At the other end of the table bottom side Ballincollig host the side above them Clonmel. Ballincollig after some heavy defeats in recent weeks will want to get their first home win of the season against a side that have lost several of their squad due to emigration and as a result now find themselves struggling in the league.

Waterpark entertain Old Christians and after a win last week away to St. Senan’s they will be confident of picking up the points against an Old Christians side that seems to lack consistency.

Skibbereen after a poor opening are beginning to find their form and they should pick up the points when they play hosts to St. Senan’s.

Kilfeacle are at home to Cobh Pirates and the Tipperary side will be looking for their third successive victory.

There are only two games listed in the Second Division and it should allow two of the sides on the edge of the promotion race to strengthen their challenge.
Kanturk are at home to bottom side Charleville and despite their reverse last week away to leaders Galbally they will be aiming to get maximum points from this encounter.

The other game sees Muskerry at home to St. Mary’s. Muskerry need a win to ease any relegation worries while the Limerick side would be back in the promotion frame should they get a victory.

In the Third Division leaders Scariff will be looking to pick up all five points from their home tie against Kilrush.

Presentation a point behind the leaders travel to Bantry in search of all five points. Bantry boosted by their first win last week against Corca Dhuibhne will have it all to do against an unbeaten Limerick side that should return home with the spoils.

Carrick-on-Suir should get back to winning ways with a home win over Shandon. Abbeyfeale will need to pick up the points from their trip to Dungarvan to get back in the promotion race and Douglas will have it all to do away to Killorglin.
