The Munster Junior side to face defending champions Leinster in their opening game of this season’s Interprovincial Series this Saturday, 27 April, at Skibbereen RFC (kick-off 2.30pm).

Captained from full-back by Abbeyfeale’s Derry O’Connor, the side boasts 13 new caps in the starting XV with another five on the bench.

Experienced Head Coach, John Lillis (Thurles), is assisted by Forwards Coach, Kieran Essex (Bandon).

Lillis is under no illusions about the task his charges face this weekend: “Leinster is always a massive test.

“They won the championship with a clean sweep last season and we know they are going all out to defend their title.

“That said, we have a lot of talent at our disposal this year, and I’m sure we will get massive support down in Skibbereen, particularly with the number of West Cork players involved.”
