Munster Players Visit Schools

Two more schools in Limerick saw Munster players visit them in recent weeks, as Mike Sherry and Mark Chisolm met with children at St John’s National School, while Duncan Casey and Sean McCarthy paid a visit to Castletroy College.
Munster Rugby players Sherry and Chishlom visited St John’s National school, sat with the kids and answered all of their questions about playing rugby for the province, while also brushing up on their art skills! Each pupil in the class lined up and got an autograph from both players. At break time Mike and Mark helped out in the yard, where young pupils were delighted to see them.
After getting stuck into classwork with the 2nd and 3rd class boys and girls, they went up to 5th and 6th class, where they were asked a number of interesting questions by the students, keen to learn more about the lads and their lives as rugby players for Munster.
Meanwhile also on the east side of the city Duncan Casey and Sean McCarthy dropped into Castletroy College to speak to younger classes there. The session was kindly facilitated by Declan English for the Q&A session in the school gym.
The two players were asked some great questions about life after rugby and dealing with injury, coming back from injury and the possibility of playing outside of Ireland. It proved to be a very open and honest session, which both players and children enjoyed immensely.
These visits show Munster Rugby’s continuing commitment to visiting schools in the community, and providing a positive an inspiration on young people of all ages and codes.
