Munster Players Visit Summer Camps On Week Two

Week two of the Munster Rugby Summer Camps ended today at rugby clubs Fermoy and Highfield and the Kilkee Community College in County Clare.

Participating children aged between 6 and 12 enjoyed a week of fun activities with added excitement last Wednesday when they met some of their Munster Rugby heroes.

Duncan Williams, Dave O'Callaghan and Cian Bohane paid a visit to Fermoy RFC to join in on the fun "Duncanactivities with some of the club's up and coming rugby stars.

Highfield RFC welcomed Donncha O'Callaghan, Ivan Dineen and Niall Scannell while Barry O'Mahony, CJ Stander and Alan Cotter made the trip to Kilkee.

The professional players took the time to participate in some of the games with the young rugby enthusiasts, sign autographs and take part in a question and answers forum.

This summer Munster Rugby has a total of 23 venues throughout the whole province (please see below for your nearest venue). Camp fee is €85 per child with a family discount of a second and subsequent child at €75.

Each camp takes place over one week (Monday through to Friday inclusive) between 9:30am and 1:30pm.

Alternatively book your Summer Camp place by downloading the application form here.

As an added bonus Munster Rugby is running a competition giving you a chance to win a Summer Camp place each week at any one of Munster Rugby's camps. For details on how to win please click here.

Each participant will receive an Official Summer Camp Pack comprising an adidas Summer Camp T-Shirt, adidas Shorts, adidas Socks, adidas Draw-String Bag, Mouth Guard and one Junior ticket to a Munster match.

Children who participate in the camps will get the chance to make new friends, learn more about rugby values such as team work, respect and integrity, and also become more aware of the importance of physical fitness. All this while learning to develop the basic rugby skills of passing, tackling (in a controlled environment), evasion and kicking. Most of all we guarantee lots of fun!

To facilitate the appropriate attention, participants will be divided by their age into groups. Central to the Munster Rugby Summer Camps philosophy is ensuring the introduction to the game of Rugby in a safe and controlled manner.

The Camps will be managed and run by fully accredited I.R.F.U. Mini Rugby coaches. All Summer Camp staff have undertaken the National Garda Vetting process required to comply with the IRFU policy regarding recruitment and vetting to work in age grade rugby.
