Munster Preparations Continue For Australia Clash

The countdown is on for Munster U19s’ clash with Australia Schools at Thomond Park on Tuesday, 17 December (ko 5pm).

The game will see the best of the young rugby talent in Munster facing up to the top Australian schools players.

To prepare for the game, the under 19 side have already played Cork Con U20s and will face UL Bohs U20s this coming Wednesday in Annacotty (ko 7pm).

The match against Cork Con was a very valuable exercise in the squad reduction policy as Head Coach Keith Murphy looks to reduce the current squad of 40 down to 26 players for the Australia game.

Following the UL Bohs fixture, the squad will take part in three training sessions leading into the Thomond Park clash.

Before they play Munster, the touring Australia side will face Leinster on December 11 at Donnybrook and will then travel to Belfast to face the Ireland U19s on December 14.

Four Munster U19 players are in the Irish squad for the fixture, Frank Bradshaw Ryan(Shannon), Munster academy player Jack Cullen (Bruff), Seán McNulty (UCD) and Mike O'Donnell (Crescent College Comprehensive).

The game against Munster at Thomond Park will round off the tour.

Munster U19s v Australia Schools will take place at Thomond Park on Tuesday December 17 (ko 5pm).
