Munster Rugby At Limerick Southside Summer Festival
9th September 2015 By Munster Rugby
Limerick Charity "Changing Lives" in association with Sunderland AFCs ‘Foundation Of Light’ recently held a multi sports summer camp for children aged 5-12 in Limerick’s southside area.
Mark Heffernan of “Changing Lives” spearheaded the organisation of the camp which took place in Carew Park FC in Southill.
The camp gave young boys and girls the opportunity to try a number of sports from outside organisations which included rugby, soccer and boxing.
Munster Rugby Community Officer, Euan Gee, was on hand to introduce rugby skills to the youths focusing on principles of play while stressing the importance of taking up a sport and keeping fit from an early age.
2015 sees the first Limerick Southside Summer Festival with plans to make it bigger for 2016.
Munster Rugby would like to thank Mark Heffernan, Sunderland AFC’s foundation of light and Carew Park FC for the opportunity to get involved with the festival.
