The Munster Rugby Big Quiz was held on May 14 with the event raising important funds for two of the province’s nominated charities; Bumbleance and The Cope Foundation.
Bumbleance, which was founded by Munster couple Mary and Tony Heffernan from Kerry, is the official Children’s National Ambulance Service of Ireland. They provide safe and comfortable transportation for Ireland’s youngest patients as they travel between their homes and hospitals, hospices, treatment centres, and respite centres nationwide.
The Cope Foundation provides support services to adults and children with intellectual disabilities in Cork city and county.
The virtual quiz raised just under €3,500.
On the night there was plenty of entertainment between rounds with co-host Jon Kenny providing the laughs alongside former Clare hurler Anthony Daly, The 2 Johnnies, John Spillane, Billy Keane and John Breen.
The quiz was won by ‘The Grumpy Old Men’ which consisted of Adrian Joyce, Declan Costello, John Geraghty, Paul O’Brien and Noel Lydon after they secured 67.2 points out of a maximum 75 points.
