Munster Rugby Development To Host Inclusion Camp

Munster Rugby Development are holding an Inclusion Camp to provide children with all disabilities, aged between 6 and 12-years-old, with three days of rugby fun.

The camp will run from Monday 26-Wednesday 28 August and is focused on adapting rugby to meet the needs of camp participants while also maximising their enjoyment.

Camp Information

• Open to children with all disabilities aged between 6 and 12-years-old
• Venue: Ballincollig RFC, Cork
• Dates: Monday 26th August, Tuesday 27th August and Wednesday 28th August, 2019
• Times: 10.00am – 12.00pm each day
• Cost: €50
• Kit: adidas Munster Rugby t-shirt, Munster drawstring bag and a rugby ball

Inclusion Camp Content

A strong emphasis is placed on adapting the content of our camp to meet the needs and abilities of the players and group to ensure rugby specific coaching is delivered in an appropriate and safe manner with the aim to;

  • Maximise enjoyment
  • Be all-inclusive
  • Optimise learning
  • Create friendships
  • Improve rugby skills

What to expect on the Munster Rugby Inclusion Camp? 

  • Every attendee gets an adidas Munster Rugby t-shirt, Munster drawstring bag, and a rugby ball.
  • One free junior ticket to a Munster game in the early rounds of competition.
  • Top quality coaching from IRFU accredited and experienced coaches.
  • Our camp staff have completed IRFU Safe Rugby Level 1 and the World Rugby First Aid in rugby. No nursing or medical administration will be available on site.

What is expected from parents?

· Upon booking all parents are asked to complete an ‘About Me’ profile for their child so we can tailor the coaching that children will receive on the camp to maximise participation and enjoyment.

· Our inclusion camp will have a suitable number of coaches and assistants present so that parents do not need to stay for the duration of the camp. However, if you feel you would like to stay to support your child, you are more than welcome once you inform the camp manager.
