Munster Rugby FUNdamentals Home Skills Programme

Munster Rugby are delighted to provide a #RugbyFUNdamentals Home Skills programme for primary school children.

These videos focus on catching, kicking, running and evasion, fundamental movement skills and more. The aim of the videos is to offer some FUN rugby and movement activities to do at home and to support children during the Level 5 lockdown while continuing to grow their capacities and understanding of some core physical literacy components.

These games and activities could act as nice challenges for your children during this period of homeschooling and/or incorporated into your school’s PE curriculum.

The activities are very transferable to many sports and will assist your child with general physical literacy competencies whilst having FUN.

Munster Rugby Technical Skills Development coach Mike Pettman delivers the video series and is seen with his own kids utilising the skills and activities.

Mike commented: “We had great fun making these videos with my two girls and with my eldest, in particular, really challenging me and herself during the activities, looking to progress each time.

“They really enjoyed all the movements and the fun we brought to the activities. I hope other kids and families can get some benefit from these videos, especially during this current lockdown period.”
