There were two quarter-finals down for decision today in the Munster Schools Boys Junior Cup as St Munchin’s College and Ardscoil Rís both progressed to the semi-finals of this season’s competition.

St Munchin’s then went over for a try off a lineout maul which was converted which gave them a 20-5 lead at the break.

There was just one score in the second half as Crescent scored a try in the corner and that’s how it finished as St Munchin’s progressed to a semi-final meeting with PBC after a 20-10 win.

In the second-half, Rockwell produced some early pressure but were unable to cross for a try. Instead, Ardscoil’s Darragh Leyden got that important next score after he powered over from the base of a scrum. With the Limerick school leading 10-7, they made sure of the result when Daniel O’Connell picked off a loose Rockwell pass and the winger raced clear from his own 22 to dot down under the posts.
