The Munster U17 Schools Development Squad and their parents gathered at the Charleville Park hotel last Wednesday evening for an information meeting as preparations commence for their summer training programme.

Over 100 guests were in attendance welcomed by Munster Junior Vice President Bertie Smith, who thanked them for their efforts throughout the season on behalf of the Munster Branch.
Munster Coach Development Officers, Keith Murphy and John Lacey were also on hand to outline the upcoming summer programme including the player schedule and training venues. Ultan O’Callaghan, Domestic Rugby Manager, addressed the sport and study opportunities that the development programme offers the players.
The Munster U17 Schools Development Squad will train for three days a week over a period of eight weeks of the summer months, with the emphasis on technical skill development and strength and conditioning education.
Players will also attend Rockwell College on four consecutive Thursdays where the Munster Rugby Talent Camps will be taking place in preparation for the upcoming interprovincial series.
Educational modules over the eight week programme will include nutrition and mental/lifestyle management modules to collaborate with their heavy training schedule.
