Highlights of last Friday’s Clayton Hotels Munster Senior Schools Cup final which saw Presentation Brothers College capture their 29th title, going back level with Cork rivals CBC at the top of the honours board.

A special achievement, too, for Glenstal Abbey to reach their first final in 47 years, and they will be hoping given the current talent the wait for a next final will be much shorter.

Both sides swapped penalties in the opening quarter in difficult conditions at Thomond Park, Sean French then crossed the line for the Cork side to open up a 8-3 lead. PBC were camped in the Glenstal half for much of the second-half, and despite the Limerick’s side resolute defence, they struggled to amount any serious offensive pressure on the visitors.

In the end a late French penalty put it out of reach, and a sizeable Cork crowd left happy, Pres winning their first Senior Cup title in seven years.
