Munster Seeks To Retain Rugby Talent

Munster Rugby recently formed an Age Grade To Adult Committee (AGTA) with a primary focus of retaining players at Club and School level to ensure the continued development of rugby within the province.

In the last number of seasons, players across Munster are leaving the game, in particular at Club U18 and Schools U19 age grades, leading to a significant reduction in their participation within adult rugby.

As a result rugby at both Senior and Junior level are affected resulting in the cancellation of fixtures and an inability for clubs to form U20 feeder sides.

The AGTA has been formed to address this issue and is tasked with focusing on players born in 1997 and 1998, offering new ways of participation via alternative competition models such as 10-a-side rugby.

Munster Rugby are inviting all club members connected to age grade players to attend a meeting on Thursday, 25th August or Wednesday 31st August to discuss a plan for the season with your AGTA representative.

Details are as follows:-

Thursday 25th August, South Munster, Munster Rugby Office, Irish Independent Park, Cork.
Wednesday 31st August, West Munster Rugby, Malton Hotel, Killarney, Co. Kerry.
