Munster Team Named For U18 Decider

The Munster U18 Girls team has been named for their Interprovincial decider against Ulster in Westmanstown RFC tomorrow (Saturday) at 3.30pm.

Munster coaches Eugene McCarthy and Denis Stevenson have made one change to the starting XV that drew with Leinster last week as Eimear Perryman returns to the second row and Jane Ryan moves to flanker.

Andrea Stock and Holly O'Dwyer have been drafted into the replacements as the starting backline remains unchanged with 7's internationals Emily Lane, Enya Breen, Stephanie Nunan and Aoife O'Shaughnessy all remaining in situ.

Munster will take great confidence from their opening games with their backs, in particular, looking very strong. Enya Breen notched up 13 points during their 33-7 victory over Connacht on the opening weekend, while centre Dorothy Wall caused plenty of trouble with her bursts through the middle in the scoreless draw with Leinster last weekend.

Ulster go into the decider in fine form having beaten Leinster 10-5 in their opening fixture before recording a 34-5 win away to Connacht last weekend at Buccaneers RFC.

The last two weekends have seen the four provinces take to the field in what was their first ever competitive U18 Girls Interprovincial Series.

In previous years, these games have been played in a blitz-like format for developmental purposes, however with growth in numbers and profile of the female game in Ireland, the IRFU made the decision to move to a full Interprovincial Series for the U18 girls.
